New Delhi: An engineer from Maharashtra left his high paying job in an MNC and followed his passion for farming. Right now he is one of the richest farmers of the country. This is the story of Pramod Gautam, who was working as an automobile engineer at an MNC but he was never satisfied with the corporate culture, so soon he left his job.

Pramod had 26 acres of farmland, where he decided to grow crops and turn into a farmer and entrepreneur. Not following the traditional farming methods and techniques, he chose to take a new route and explore horticulture. Now, he started growing fruits and vegetables inside a greenhouse applying modern science and technology.

At the initial phase, Gautam started with farming peanuts (moongfali) and turmeric (haldi) to keep it small. Later, he added moong dal to start making some profit. His moong dal was free of adulteration and unpolished which did not demand for lots of labour. This helped him increase his profits and presence in Nagpur.

Pramod started his own dal brand called Vandana Foods. His brand sells different types of grains and pulses. Vandana Foods are also available on Amazon and Flipkart for customers across the country.
Growing his business each day with his hardwork and innovative ideas, he now earns more than many IIT and IIM graduates and CEOs. He has annual income of roughly 1 crore every year and has a salary of Rs 10-12 lakh per month making him one among the richest farmers of the country.
