
During the event, a huge number of farmers took part and showed their interest in floriculture and other aromatic crops. A detailed discussion took place on the promotion of commercial farming along with the cultivation of aromatic crops such as lavender and rosemary. Farmers face a lot of hardship during farming, which needs to be addressed.
Assistant Floriculture Officer Pawan Kumar briefed the participants about the centrally sponsored schemes being implemented in the district. He emphasized that apart from technical support and the latest farming technologies, the department also offers financial assistance in the form of incentives to the farmers.
The training program was conducted by Director General Vivek Sharma under the supervision of Landscape Officer Vikrant Kumar. The event saw the participation of numerous progressive farmers such as Rajinder Kumar, Pritam Singh, and Bans Raj. The presence of women farmers was an encouraging sign, showing their curiosity towards floriculture.
The participants praised the efforts of the department and hoped that such kind of interactive session would take place at regular intervals. Farmers need guidelines from the experts to grow flowers for commercial purposes, which will strengthen the economy of the area and their profits as well.
