Kodaikanal flower show to get underway from May 24

Chennai: The scenic hill station of Kodaikanal in Dindigul district has been gearing up to organize the 62nd Annual Flower Show starting from May 24, and it will continue till June 1. The vibrant show is expected to attract tourists from across Tamil Nadu, neighboring states, and overseas. Kodaikanal is known for pleasant weather and natural beauty in scorching heat. Therefore it becomes a favourite spot for families to escape the heat for some days.

The Horticulture and Tourism Departments have decided to organize several events to provide more amusements to the tourists. The flourishing flower show will be center stage. It will be held at the famous Bryant Park. A huge number of people are expected to witness this flower show in perfect climate.

As per the Dindigul District Collector Saravanan, the event will procure a wide range of native and exotic flowers, including salvia, delphinium, zinnia, and pink aster. Besides this, unique floral models such as the Peacock, Dindigul Lock, and Hill Garlic are expected to be major attractions for visitors.

The organizers have added several features, such as a dog show, boating competitions, and fishing events, to make the event full of entertainment for the tourists. These programmes are designed to not only boost tourism but also promote awareness of horticulture and local traditions.

The nine-day celebration is expected to pull thousands of visitors, which will give a big boost to the local economy. Several stalls will be set up to attract visitors. The 62nd Kodaikanal Flower Show will be a memorable experience for those who attend.
