Bengaluru: Monsoon rains have pressed the button in Dakshina Kannada, which has doubled the natural beauty of the entire region. Fields have turned lush green, and flowers are blooming in different colours, making the atmosphere like the face of a newlywed bride. The combination of red, pink, white, blue, purple, yellow, and orange has further enhanced the attractiveness, enticing people from all walks of life and passersby as well.

Among the many flowers seen just before the rainy season, the monsoon flower stands out. These bright reddish-orange flowers bloom in large clusters on tall trees, grabbing the attention of anyone passing by. Wherever these trees grow, the area looks like a red carpet has been rolled out, especially under the clear blue sky.

Belonging to the Fabaceae family, these trees become a visual treat during the month of May, which is why they are popularly known as “May Flowers.” However, the flowering usually begins in April itself.

Credit goes to the Forest Department for planting such kinds of trees beside the roads. The tree can’t be used for other purposes, but its eye-catching flowers make the environment calm and peaceful. Apart from scattering flowers, trees also spread massive shades, and their combination makes the scenery unique. During the month of May, flowers loaded on branches of the tree have made the surroundings magical. Therefore, it is the perfect gift from nature at the start of the monsoon season.
