Nagpur: Central Railway's Nagpur Division observed the upcoming World Environment Day 2025 with a special seminar organized at Nagpur Railway Station. The main focus of the event was on the theme ‘Combating Plastic Pollution.’ The goal of the event was to raise awareness among railway staff and passengers regarding the harmful effects of plastic and to create promotion for eco-friendly alternatives. On this occasion, cloth bags were distributed to passengers, aiming to reduce the use of plastic in daily life.

At the outset the step looks small, but it will encourage everyone to protect the environment personally at any cost. This year’s theme for World Environment Day 2025 is “Ending Plastic Pollution,” and it highlights the urgent need to reduce plastic waste, especially single-use plastics.

In this event, top officials from railway departments like engineering, medical, commercial, and security participated in the seminar. Besides this, numerous passengers along with railway staff also took part in the programme. They pledged to go ahead for a greener and cleaner future.

During the seminar, railway officials spoke about how plastic pollution harms the environment and human health. They stressed the importance of using less plastic in daily life and choosing greener habits instead.

This ongoing initiative by the Nagpur Railways is set to promote sustainability and engage with the passengers on eco-friendly matters. Nagpur Division has been playing an immense role in supporting the national goal to make the country plastic-free.
