The fruit grows well in several soils, but results come in well-drained sandy loam. Usually papaya is being planted by farmers during the monsoon, autumn, or spring. Numerous varieties, such as Pusa Delicious, Pusa Dwarf, Pusa Giant, and Taiwan Red Lady, are commonly cultivated in the country. The plant bears fruit within 8 to 10 months after planting.
