Professor Pathak said that India’s overall horticulture production has crossed 362 million tonnes, encouraging the youth to play an active role in agriculture and horticulture to make India a developed nation, “Viksit Bharat,” by 2047.
Vice Chancellor Vishnuvardhan added that UHS Bagalkot occupies the number one position among the country’s horticulture universities in securing Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs). He said students are inspired to go for research and development work that can solve farmers’ problems. Governor and Chancellor Thawar Chand Gehlot handed degrees and gold medals to the graduating students.
On this occasion, UHS Registrar Mahadev Muragi, Director of Instruction N.K. Hegde, Research Director B. Fakruddin, and Director of Extension Venkateshalu were also present. The vibrant event was a proud moment for the university, which will further boost horticulture in India.
