New Delhi: The Indian horticulture sector has made rapid progress in recent years in terms of the productivity of fruits, vegetables, and spices and technological advancements. Horticultural growth has been taking place across the country, but some of the states in 2025 are using modern technologies shrewdly, and their smart planning further boosted the yield. Five states are leading horticulture states this year.

Gujarat

Gujarat is doing remarkably well in this sector. Farmers of the state manage water, soil, and temperature carefully. Therefore, they are growing various crops in bulk and make the state a leading producer of fruits, vegetables, and spices.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra occupies the number one position in grape farming in the country. Nashik is known as the “Wine Capital of India.” The productivity of pomegranates, mangoes, and other fruits is high in the state. Here farmers are using modern methods of farming such as drip irrigation, setting up polyhouses, and an Airotec Turbo sprayer to protect crops from pests and diseases.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh is known as the massive mango production state. To keep the trees safe from insects, farmers use machines like the Bullet Sprayer from Mitra Agro Equipment. Currently, other fruits and vegetables are being grown in huge quantities with the help of the Dutchmen.

Jammu and Kashmir

This Union Territory produces 77% of India’s apples. Not to talk of apples, the valley is famous for the productivity of other fruits such as cherries, pears, apricots, cherries, almonds, walnuts, peaches, plums, and grapes. Horticulture is the backbone of Jammu and Kashmir. Here farmers use orchard sprayers like the Airotec sprayer to protect trees from pests.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu is the leading coconut-producing state; it is expected that more than 7 billion coconuts are grown every year. Areas like Coimbatore and Krishnagiri are perfect for coconut cultivation. The Airotec cyclone sprayer is being used by farmers to keep the trees healthy.

The five states have made it clear that modern techniques and shrewd planning can help in growing horticulture at a rapid speed. Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are two other states where horticultural production is on the right track.
