Kannur Monsoon Mushrooms - A success story

 

 

Kannur: Rahul Govind, from Kannur in Kerala, belongs to a farming family. He learnt his basics of agriculture from his father, Govindam Nambiar. However, mushroom farming fascinated him, caught his interest, and changed his life. He shared his ideas about mushroom cultivation with his mother. The mother-son duo joined a training programme run by KrishiVigyan Kendra (KVK), Kannur, to get the knowledge of scientific mushroom farming.

They started their journey from a small 100 beds in a 50 sq. ft. storeroom. But the tiny startup turned into a vibrant business. Their growth rate was fast enough to surprise others. Rahul got success, so he launched Monsoon Mushrooms in 2018. His belief in eco-friendly farming helped him to succeed. Their business started booming, and currently, Monsoon Mushrooms runs eight farms across the state.

The success story of Rahul shows that hard work, determination, and family support are essential for success. Rahul started his mushroom farming without knowing their future. He got success with the time, and today he built a flourishing agribusiness. He is now a role model for local farmers, and some of them are encouraged by his success.
