As the chief guest at the event, Bhagat said that the Punjab government has left no stone unturned in the promotion of the horticulture sector in the state and farmers’ welfare. He further added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mann, the state has been providing canal water supply to farms on a regular basis. This initiative has given a big boost to horticulture in the state. During the event farmers shared their issues, and the minister assured them he would address them quickly.
Deputy Director of Horticulture, Amritsar, Tajinder Singh Sandhu, said that 714 entries of top-quality pears and value-added fruit products were received from different districts. The chief guest handed prizes to winners; District Amritsar bagged 28 prizes.
Departmental exhibitions were one of the key features of the exhibition. Experts from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, shared their views on pear farming and marketing. The event became successful, and credit went to officers and staff members.
