Bihar govt to push amla cultivation in Sasaram with 50% subsidy

Sasaram: Farmers of the Sasaram district of Bihar have wonderful news. The state government has decided to provide a 50% subsidy on the cost of cultivation to those who grow amla (Indian gooseberry). Assistant Director of Horticulture Jitendra Kumar recently said in his statement.

The government has decided to start amla farming on a large scale in the district, targeting 30 hectares. The purpose of the scheme is to boost crop diversification, accelerate farmers’ profit, and encourage farming techniques that suit the local climate.

It is expected that for cultivation of amla on one hectare of land, the total cost is around Rs 1 lakh, and they will get a subsidy of Rs 50,000 per hectare, and they will receive the money in two installments, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000, respectively, in the first and second years.

Farmers will have to apply online to get the benefits of the scheme. The horticulture department is ready to provide all kinds of information and support. Amla cultivation is likely to boost farmers’ profit and provide job opportunities to the locals.
