Plantation drives of endangered species of trees occur at Nagpur's RET garden

Nagpur: The Maharashtra Revenue Minister and District Guardian Minister, Chandrashekhar Bawankule led a unique tree plantation event that was held recently at the "Rare, Endangered and Threatened Species Botanical Garden" (RET Park) in Mauje Rui (Khairi), located in the Butibori Forest Range of the Nagpur Forest Division.
 

The vibrant event was organised jointly by the Nagpur Forest Division, the Maharashtra Compensatory Afforestation Fund Project, and the Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board. This initiative is a part of the "Green Maharashtra, Prosperous Maharashtra" mission started by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. It is being supported by the national "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign.

During the drive around 70 rare and endangered plant species were planted over 4.5 hectares of land. The special thing is that each plant had a QR code label where all the details about the plants and how to conserve them have been mentioned.

 

Minister Bawankule urged government departments to concentrate on the creation of more nurseries and stressed public involvement. He also urged forest officials to develop more RET gardens.

 

A huge number of people, such as local students, NGOs, and villagers. Forest officers and leaders, including MLA Sameer Meghe, were present during the event. At the end, Assistant Conservator of Forests Manoj Dhanvijay gave a vote of thanks to the participants.
