Male: Maldives: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to the neighbouring Maldives, where he shows concern about environmental and climate changes. In a strong message of environmental responsibility and regional cooperation, Prime Minister Modi and Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu plant seedlings together in Male. The event supports two major green initiatives—India’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and the Maldives Government’s “Pledge of 5 Million Tree Plantation.”

Prime Minister Modi said the two countries fully understand the dangers of climate change and environmental damage, especially for island nations like the Maldives. “India and the Maldives are deeply aware of the challenges we face due to climate change. We are committed to doing everything possible to boost sustainability and protect our planet for future generations,” he said.

President Muizzu welcomed Prime Minister Modi and expressed his happiness at the shared efforts. “Planting a tree is a symbol of hope and action. Today, we are not only planting saplings but also planting the seeds of a greener and safer future,” he said.
