The kits were received by 45 farming families from the Jang-Thingbu Block under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). Every kit is replete with numerous ingredients such as hybrid vegetable seeds, organic liquid and granular manure, organic pesticides, and knapsack sprayers.
Hakraso Kri, ADC Jang, who was the chief guest on this occasion, inspired farmers to adopt organic practices instead of chemical-based farming. He said organic farming keeps health and the environment in better conditions, and it can play a vital role in long-term rural success. He went on to say that farmers need to focus on group farming and better market connections that will boost their profits.
District Horticulture Officer Safior Rahman clarified how to use organic fungicides, bactericides, and bio-pesticides. He further added that they are beneficial for soil and safe in place of chemical products.
During the event farmers, local people, PRI members, and ITBP officials actively participated. This effort shows governments’ willingness to grow agriculture and horticulture in every Indian village.
