Currently, if anyone enters Cheradi village, then they feel that they are walking into a beautiful garden. Ornamental plants are lined up in a beautiful manner, creating a peaceful and colourful scene. Saji’s home is also situated along the same road. He spent 15 years abroad. When Saji came back to his native place, he found the roadside near his house covered in weeds. He decided to do something.
In the beginning he cleaned the entire area and planted ornamental plants along a 500-metre stretch of the road. He preferred non-flowering, colourful plants, which he collected during his trips. He got dividends from his hard work, and today, the area has transformed into a green belt.
Saji keeps his eyes on each plant like his near and dear ones. He waters the plants on a regular basis, especially in summer, adds manure every six months, and regularly trims the plants to keep the garden neat and clean. Credit goes to Saji for turning the neglected road into a beautiful green space.
