During this period she visited Bengaluru and took part in an event called Permaculture and Beyond, inspired by spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Ravi Shankar. This event gave her a lesson on how to grow plants naturally through nature’s own methods. This programme changed her thinking and created a small ecosystem, improving the soil fertility, and she started caring for plants by herself.
Currently, her garden is replete with several trees, such as papaya, custard apple, guava, and chikoo. She has been successfully growing seasonal vegetables such as cucumbers, okra, carrots, and beets. Several herbal plants like basil, parsley, and thyme, along with unusual vegetables like red okra and white eggplant, are also being grown on her terrace.
Therefore, her garden seems to be a small farm. She had proved that small spaces in the city can be turned into a green zone, providing fresh chemical-free fruits and vegetables along with improving air quality.
