Ahmedabad: Mitesh Patel, a collegium member of the Indian Nurserymen Association (INA), has launched an ambitious project with the Gujarat Forest Department to plant one crore bamboo saplings. He presented the latest edition of Nursery Today magazine to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force recently in Gujarat.

Bamboo Day falls on September 18, and Mitesh Patel is set to organise a special programme on this occasion in which several INA members will actively participate. Gujarat’s top forest officials have shown keen interest in supporting INA’s bamboo plantation mission. In this regard, Deputy Conservator of Forests Agneeshwar Vyas and Assistant Conservator of Forests Amit Aanand held an important meeting with the top brass of Nursery Today.

In addition to the bamboo initiative, Mitesh Patel planted a Sindoor tree outside the Forest Department office. The act symbolises his commitment to environmental protection and promotion of greenery. Such efforts are expected to not only improve the environment but also encourage greenery in both rural and urban areas.

This large-scale bamboo plantation is expected to give a strong boost to bamboo farming and conservation in Gujarat. It also holds the potential to create employment opportunities while raising public awareness about environmental conservation.
