Jaipur: A special kind of horticulture nursery is being developed at the Parsa Mine in Rajasthan’s Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL), aiming to protect the environment, maintain ecological balance, and promote sustainable green development. The nursery was unveiled at the mine premises.

During the inauguration, a tree plantation event also took place at the nursery site. The programme stressed RRVUNL’s commitment and role in the protection of the environment. More than 20,000 seedlings and 15 local forest species have already been grown by the nursery, including trees of sal, mahua, tendu, saja, baheda, tamarind, mango, jackfruit, jamun, and neem. Such trees are likely to improve the local ecosystem and support biodiversity.

The nursery is filled with all the modern facilities, such as a drip irrigation system and the latest tools. Farmers are being encouraged to go for organic farming so that the quality and quantity of the crops can be improved. Experts will monitor each plant on a regular basis to ensure its healthy growth.

Locals are playing a vital role in developing the nursery, trying to make it an ideal nursery with the addition of new techniques in farming, strengthening the community participation in environmental protection.

Officials said the goal of the nursery is not only to supply seedlings for plantation drives in the area but also to act as a model for eco-friendly development. This initiative is expected to expand the green belt in the entire area along with improvement in the environment.
