Shillong: The Meghalaya government has announced a massive Rs 240-crore Floriculture Mission 1.0 to make the state a floral hub in the Northeast and across the country. Two companies from West Bengal—Darjeeling Gardens and North Bengal Floritech—have been hired to provide technical support, infrastructure development, and planting materials. Besides this, there is a guarantee of a three-year market buyback.

North Bengal Floritech and Darjeeling Gardens are both leading names in India's floriculture and horticulture industry. They are ready to give their services to Meghalaya in its floriculture mission. They are known for cultivating high-quality orchids and giving turnkey solutions in floriculture. The West Bengal firms are likely to strengthen Meghalaya’s floral economy.

North Bengal Floritech is famous all over the country for growing different kinds of orchid varieties, including Cymbidium, Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Vanda, Oncidium, and Epidendrum, among other exotic species. The approach of the company is scientific in selecting saplings so that they can survive in numerous environmental and climatic conditions.

“Our success lies in the passion we put into our plants and the experience we've built over the years,” said a spokesperson for North Bengal Floritech. “We are excited to bring our expertise to Meghalaya, a state with immense potential in the field of floriculture.”

Their expansion in the Northeast state has given them a chance to open a new market journey through strong leadership and deep skill in the development of floriculture.
