In this programme around 50 orchardists from horticulture zones across Srinagar district participated, as per the official report. The goal of the event was to transmit knowledge to farmers with modern horticultural techniques and inform them about the department’s newly launched schemes.
Experts told them how to adopt and use modern tools during farming that will boost the quality and quantity of fruit yield. Farmers got inspirations to adopt such methods to raise yield and boost their incomes.
During the event, practical training sessions took place to help farmers apply the knowledge in their orchards. Vermicompost and horticulture toolkits were given to attendees so that they can use them in their orchards and farms.
Officials said such programmes are designed to help local farmers keep pace with changing agricultural trends and make their practices more sustainable and profitable. They further said that the use of scientific methods and modern equipment is capable of making horticulture more competitive and rewarding.
The department has been planning to organise more such kinds of training sessions across the district in the coming months.
