Soak the seeds in water or lukewarm water for 6–8 hours before sowing to get better germination. This makes the seed coat soft, and due to this process, seeds sprout 3–4 days earlier. If planting in a container, then choose at least an 8–10 inch deep pot. This will be helpful in the spread of roots.
Light sunlight and cool weather are ideal for the growth of spinach. The plant needs morning sunlight and partial shade in the afternoon. Sprinkle light water every day to keep the soil moist but not soggy. Cover the soil with dry leaves or grass in summer to retain moisture. Spinach can be ready for harvest within 25–30 days. It is better to pluck the leaves from the top instead of uprooting the plant.
