In a bid to bolster the agriculture landscape and promote sustainable practices, CSIR-Institute of Integrative and Industrial Microbiology (CSIR IIIM) recently organized an interactive workshop for farmers as part of the CSIR Floriculture Mission. The event aimed to empower farmers with knowledge and innovative techniques to enhance floriculture productivity.

The workshop, held at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research–Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine witnessed enthusiastic participation from local farmers eager to delve into the world of floriculture. Experts from CSIR IIIM shared valuable insights on advanced cultivation methods, pest control strategies and the latest development in floriculture research.

Dr Zaber Ahmad a leading researcher at CSIR IIM, highlighted the institute’s commitment to fostering a collaborative environment to fostering a collaborative environment between scientists and farmer. “Our goal is to bridge the gap between research and on-ground implementation, ensuring that farmers have access to the latest advancement in floriculture” said Dr Zabeer Ahmad.

The workshop covered diverse topics, including soil health management, water-efficient irrigation techniques, and the selection of suitable flowering plants for various climate. Practical demonstration and hands-on sessions allowed farmers to gain firsthand experience and clarity on implementing these techniques in their own fields.
